Event Overview
Formed in 2014, Friday Quintet is a Taiwan-based jazz ensemble known for its distinctive sound and engaging stage presence.
The group has performed widely across festivals, theaters, and university events, as well as at weddings and corporate functions.
The name “Friday Quintet” captures the joy and ease of Friday—the symbolic start of the weekend.
Their music blends the freedom of jazz improvisation with lyrical melodies, offering a warm and inviting listening experience.
A defining feature of the band is its innovative, cross-disciplinary approach—bringing together jazz, dance, and elements of Taiwanese performing arts.
Through collaborations with swing and blues dancers, Friday Quintet explores new possibilities of musical and physical expression, creating live experiences that engage both ears and eyes.
In 2023, the band was officially invited to the Sakai Blues Festival in Osaka and received enthusiastic applause from international audiences.
The performance showcased fresh energy in jazz and highlighted the power of artistic exchange across cultures.
Performance Note
Our Sakai Blues Festival appearance concluded successfully and was warmly received. Despite unexpected challenges—including a family emergency for a band member and airline instrument check-in regulations—we completed this moving journey. Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way, and to the audiences who listened and cheered.
