🥁 Drum Kit Breakdown · How Each Groove Is Played

① Pick a groove:

Ride Hi-Hat Kick Snare

② Each cell = one smallest pulse; slightly wider spacingmarks the start of each beat (1, 2, 3, 4). Click an instrument name to toggle it; the slider on the right sets its volume.

💡 Straight / swing toggle: straight means the eighths are even; swing pushes the second half of each beat later (long–short, long–short), and that is where the swing feel comes from. Swing, shuffle and slow rock naturally swing, so the toggle stays on for them.
🎧 Every groove here is a simplified, representative pattern (one-bar loop), laid out cell by cell so you can see it clearly. It is not the only correct answer — real playing has far more fills, variation and breathing.
